Closing: Students were given time to finish their responses for Reflection 2. (Reflection 2 was given out on last Friday 8/11) Homework: Syllabus signed due 8/18/17/ complete Reflection 2/Quick write 3 4th period, 5th period, 7th period: Opening- Quick write 3 (Go to the the page on the site to see) Work Period- Students were introduced to their interactive notebooks. Students were given notes and "Unit One" dividers. They spent the class period organizing their notes in their notebook. They glued them in and sorted the foldables. (The focus of the notes are on Elements of a story/Plot) Closing- Students finished working on Quick Write 3. Homework: Syllabus signed due 8/18/17 8/15/17All periods: Opening- Students copied down Quick Write 4 (See page on site for QW) Work period- Students used their CLOZE notes in their interactive notebook to take notes on "The Elements of a Story." Students took a short quiz as a class over the notes they took in their interactive notebook. After the quiz, students watched a video of the story, "The Three Little Pigs"; as they listened to the story, they focused on the parts of the plot in the story. Closing- Students went back to QW3. They created a plot diagram for the story "Three little Pigs." Students reviewed the diagram as a class. Homework- Student were given a "Vocabulary Builder" handout that covers the major vocabulary in the short story "Seventh Grade."
