Finals week is here! Student were given a study guide last Friday. The study guide is due Wednesday, 12/19/18 Students will receive two grades for the study guide: Grade 1: Completion of their definitions page Grade 2: Completion of the study guide The class website has had extra credit assignments available for students since August. Also students with 70% or below grade averages for ELA received an extra credit packet to complete over the break. However, additional extra credit is available to students on USA test prep. Students can complete the group of assignments labeled "Extra Credit Due 12/18/18" The following assignments are included under this title: Students need to receive a 70% or higher on each of the assignments.
In order to move on to one assignment to the next students MUST get at least a 70% Each assignment has unlimited attempts. 12/4/18Warm up:Once you finish the warm up, turn in your journal.Work Period: Log into USATESTPREP to complete the assignment labeled "Figurative and Literal Meanings." Make sure for the writing section that you are reading the questions carefully and answering both parts fully!
1. Get out a sheet of notebook paper. 2. Look around the classroom and notice the various writing prompts posted along the walls. 3. Your job is to walk around the classroom and choose 4 writing prompts, a different figure of speech for each paragraph. 1. Alliteration 2.Simile 3. Metaphor 4. Hyperbole 5. Personification 4. As you choose your prompts, you will write them down on your notebook paper. 5. Once you jot down the prompts, return back to your seat to start writing! 6. Read over your paragraphs, make any necessary changes, then type your work into a google document. 7. Title your document: Figurative Language Writing- Your Name 8.
