8/23/17 1st Period:
Opening- Quick Write 10 (see journal page for prompt) Work Period/ Closing- Students received resources for notes to add into their interactive notebooks. The notes focused on determining the point of view of a narrative Most of the class were on a list to go to a meeting in the cafeteria at 9:20 AM. This left 1st period with only 3 students actually in class. In hopes of not having the majority of class behind, the rest of class was focused on the remaining students finishing their notes or silently reading. Homework:

Students were given a character map organizer. The character that they focused on analyzing was Victor. The students filled in examples of the character's thoughts, traits, action, description, and feelings. They had to provide the page number and line that represented each example. Homework:
8/24/17 1st Period: Opening-
4th Period: Opening- Reflection 11 (see journal page for prompt) Students used their textbooks to answer the questions and provide evidence with page and line numbers Work Period/ Closing-
5th Period: Students went to homeroom during this period to take the MAP test in the subject of Reading. It lasted from 5th to what would have been 6th period. Homework:

8/25/17 All periods: Opening: Review for the vocabulary portion of the quiz:
Part one of quiz: Students were given a quiz over the vocabulary words in the plot vocabulary set on Quizlet. The quiz was taken straight from the Quizlet site. It included a combination of true and false questions, write- ins, and multiple choice. Part two of quiz: Once students turned in their quiz they were given a short story with an accompanying handout that included blank sections for the students to fill out the elements of plot for that specific short story. Closing: If students finished before the bell rang, they were given their "Seventh Grade" packet to work on. I looked over each student's packet beforehand, providing comments and circling question that students needed to go back over and correct. Homework:
